Shoreview is a second-ring suburb in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, and it is located a few miles north of St. Paul. Home to approximately 25,000 residents, the suburb spans across approximately 10 square miles. Because most of the town’s growth took place in the 1970s and 1980s, your search for Shoreview, MN homes for sale may reveal many listings of homes built in these decades. Because the area is mostly developed, new home construction is minimal. Some areas are being redeveloped, however.
Shoreview was named by Family Circle as fourth in its list of best family towns a few years ago. Two of the local public schools have been nationally-recognized for excellence, and there is also a quality private school in the area. Numerous large employers have an office or headquarters in Shoreview, but many residents commute outside the town for work. There are nine city parks and seven lakes in this small community, which add to its appeal for house hunters. Outdoor recreation is popular at the Island Lake Golf Center, Shamrock Park, the Vadnais-Snail Lakes Regional Park, the Tropics Indoor Water Park and the Shoreview Skatepark.
